How to measure your window
Two numbers, in centimetres. That is everything we need to price your net — but they have to be right.
What we need
A width and a height, in centimetres. Not metres, not inches — centimetres, because that is what the workshop cuts to.
Send them on WhatsApp like this — 120 x 150 — and we reply with the price.
Where to put the tape
Measure inside the frame, from one inner edge to the other. That is the real opening, and it is what the net has to cover. Do not measure the glass alone, and do not measure the wall around it: both give you a frame that will not fit.
If the frame is not perfectly square — and most are not — take the measurement at its narrowest. A net that is slightly small can be fitted. A net that is too big cannot.
The mistakes we see most
- Measuring once. Take the width at the top and at the bottom, the height at the left and at the right. Keep the smaller of each pair.
- Rounding. 118 cm is not 120 cm. Give us the exact figure and let us handle the fitting tolerance.
- Forgetting the handle. If a window handle sticks into the opening, tell us — the mounting system may have to allow for it.
- Measuring over a curtain or a shutter. Clear the opening first.
A photo beats an explanation
If you are unsure, just send a photo of the window taken straight on, together with the two numbers. We can see the type of opening immediately and tell you which mounting system suits it — roll-up, accordion or sliding.
If the window is small
One square metre is the minimum charged, even for a small opening. A 60 × 60 cm window is 0.36 m² and is counted as 1 m². That is not a markup: it is the least material and work a frame takes, whatever its size.
